Demonstration

Download
Download the demonstration Java ME application: bardemoPP.jar (~200k)
Alternatively, download bardemoPP.zip (~200k) instead. Unzip this file to obtain bardemoPP.jar.

Installation
Copy bardemoPP.jar onto the device.

Invocation
Execute bardemoPP.jar specifying an application entry point of BarDemoPP.

For example, if using the J9 JVM on a Pocket PC with the application installed in the \Program Files\J9\PPRO10\examples directory, then the following (one line) shortcut invokes the application:

114#"\Program Files\J9\PPRO10\bin\j9w.exe" -jcl:ppro10 -cp "\Program Files\J9\PPRO10\examples\bardemoPP.jar" BarDemoPP

Create a one-line text file named bardemoPP.lnk consisting of the above command, or download the file from here, and copy it to the device. Select the shortcut to invoke the application.

Introduction

This page describes the compatibility between tasman.bars (for Java SE 1.3 and 1.4) and the Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME, previously known as J2ME) Connected Device Configuration (CDC). The information is for Java ME CDC developers. Familiarity with Java ME configurations and profiles is assumed, as well as the installation and operation of Java ME JVMs and associated applications on compliant devices.
